It’s fair to say that the Memphis Depay experiment at Manchester United hasn’t gone according to plan.

However, it appears that there could be a way out for the Dutchman in the upcoming transfer window.

The Independent is reporting that Italian club Roma is prepared to offer Depay a move away from Old Trafford in January in an attempt to bolster the team’s attack while Mohamed Salah is on international duty with Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.

Depay, 22, joined United in 2015 while countryman Louis van Gaal was still in charge of the Red Devils. The young attacker failed to make an impact under Van Gaal and now with Jose Mourinho, leaving him on the bench for most matches.

This season, Depay has appeared in five matches across all competitions and has not tallied a goal in that span.
