AC Milan emerged victorious from Sunday’s Milan derby, downing Inter 3-0 in convincing fashion.
With the win, AC Milan move to within two points of the top-five, while Inter sit fourth after their second consecutive 3-0 loss in Serie A play.

AC Milan was the home-side in Sunday’s derby, and the Rossoneri took a first-half lead through an Alex header in the 35th minute.
Inter boss Roberto Mancini was sent off early in the second half as he lost his cool after a penalty was not called Inter’s way. Replays showed the non-call was the right decision, and the referee sent Mancini to the stands.
Inter would get their penalty with 20 minutes to play and looked set to equalize when Mauro Icardi was taken down in the box. However, Icardi hit the post with his shot as AC Milan stayed ahead.

AC Milan made Icardi pay for his miss, as they tripled their lead in less than five minutes. M’Baye Niang played a perfect cross to Carlos Bacca at the back post, and the Colombian finished to put Milan ahead 2-0. Minutes later, Niang got a goal of his own to cap off the win.
Manager Sinisa Mihaljovic had been under fire at AC Milan, but he now has the team unbeaten in five matches in all competitions and climbing up the Serie A table.
