Wayne Rooney knows people are criticizing him.

It’s not exactly a new development for the England and Manchester United captain, who lives under the microscope for two of the most picked-apart sides in the world.

So when his club loses three matches in eight days, he knows people will be coming for him. And he just doesn’t his best to not hear it, saying “a lot of it is rubbish”.

What isn’t garbage, though, is being drawn against Manchester City in the fourth round of the EFL Cup. Rooney can’t wait to get another shot at Pep Guardiola’s unbeaten City.

From ManUtd.com:

“For me, I think it’s the perfect draw. With what happened in the league, it’s a chance for us to get revenge for that result. It’s going to be a great atmosphere. I think City will have 7,000-8,000 fans here, which will obviously make it an even better atmosphere. I think a cup game against City at Old Trafford is the perfect draw for us.”

We were pretty excited about the draw ourselves, and the fourth round will be almost as good as a Premier League match day. In addition to United-City, we’ll have West Ham-Chelsea and Liverpool-Spurs.
