The Reds went ahead through Mane, taking a pass from Dominic Solanke and chipping Lee Grant to make it 1-0.
Peter Crouch was lively, looking half his age in drawing several free kicks and even saw penalty shouts go unheeded after a hold up by Dejan Lovren.
And the home crowd was raging when Simon Mignolet chopped down Mame Biram Diouf in what could’ve been a red card but instead was yellow.
Solanke and Mane connected for a second chance, and the Senegalese sensation struck a shot off the bar in a bid for a brace.
The Reds were flirting with red on several occasions, including a series of testy exchanges involving Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The ex-Arsenal man was cautioned by his manager and then removed from the match in the 67th minute.
