Manchester City is hoping to get a huge boost next Monday, as Sergio Aguero looks set to return from injury for City’s match against Arsenal.

Aguero has missed City’s last four matches with a heel problem he suffered against Southampton in November.

While the Citizens have won three of the four matches without Aguero, getting their star striker back for a crucial clash at the Emirates is massive.

The Argentinian international has played in just ten league matches for City this season, but is still the team’s leading scorer with seven goals. He returned to full training on Wednesday, and manager Manuel Pellegrini expects Aguero to be available next Monday against Arsenal, barring any setbacks.

Monday’s match is a big one, as City currently sit third in the Premier League, just one point behind second-place Arsenal. With leaders Leicester facing a tricky trip to Liverpool, a win at the Emirates could possibly see either side jump to the top of the table in the final match before Christmas.
