Last week it was three. This week, only one.

Major League Soccer’s disciplinary committee has handed New England stalwart Sharlie Joseph a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for “a reckless challenge that endangered the safety of” FC Dallas attacker Ricardo Villar.

A poor touch led Joseph to lunge for a ball near midfield in a last-ditch attempt to maintain possession. The Revolution all-star ultimately got both legs around Villar’s right leg, taking him to ground in Friday’s 1-0 loss at FC Dallas Stadium. Referee Juan Guzman issued Joseph a yellow card.

Thanks to MLS, we have the challenge. Suspension deserved?
