Sherwood claims responsibility for Villa woes: “Not fit enough”

sherwood

Tim Sherwood is clearly desperate for answers to what ails his struggling Aston Villa side, because his solutions are sounding weirder by the minute.

Villa again faltered on Saturday, falling 1-0 to Stoke City at Villa Park.

And the vociferous manager says his charges are going to go through a “mini preseason” during the international break.

Why? Because they are not fit enough to play the Sherwood way.

From the BBC:

“We are all in this together but as the manager I take all the responsibility.

“I will use the international break to get my players fitter because they are not fit enough yet to play the way I want them to play. For some of them it will be like a mini pre-season.”

So, Tim, what you’re saying is that your actual preseason wasn’t good enough to get your players in shape, so you’re going to do it now. Seems like a bit of bad... management?

“Everyone, look at me, Timmy Tactics. No system in the world requires their players to be as fit as mine. One preseason is not enough!”

Woof. Things are bad at Villa... again.
