However, an inspired half time substitution from Claudio Ranieri saw Nathan Dyer and Riyad Mahrez cause havoc as Jamie Vardy scored twice to keep his own run of scoring in six-straight Premier League games going.
With the draw Saints have 13 points, while Leicester have 16 and remain in the top five.

At half time Leicester made two changes as Ranieri brought on Mahrez and Dyer to try and drag themselves back into the game. Vardy struck a shot straight at Kelvin Davis -- who was standing in for the injured Marten Stekelenburg -- in goal for Saints, and the subs combined in the 62nd minute as first Dyer had a shot blocked then Mahrez curled an effort just wide of the far post as Leicester pushed to get back in the game.
4 - Jamie Vardy is just the 4th Englishman to score in six consecutive PL apps this century, after Owen, Beattie and Sturridge (8). Run.
