Suarez strains hamstring, to undergo physiotherapy ahead of treble run

FC Barcelona v Rayo Vallecano de Madrid - La Liga

Four absolutely huge matches remain in Barcelona’s season, and Luis Suarez’s status is in question for at least a pair of them.

The legendary Spanish club chases a treble with two La Liga matches remaining alongside the UEFA Champions League final against Juventus and the Copa del Rey title bout with Athletic Bilbao.

Suarez has strained his left hamstring and the Associated Press reports “he will undergo physiotherapy”. As an aside, we wonder whether the AP had to add in the “physio” part to distinguish from reader presumption, given the player’s history.

Jokes aside, Suarez has been a big part of the Barca’s big-time attack, with the side’s 107 goals in La Liga (And how about that defense, allowing just 19?!?).

Hamstring injuries can be a real hassle, and it’s unlikely Suarez will feature on Saturday against Atleti. Barca needs a win or a point lost by Real Madrid to clinch the first jewel of their treble crown.
