Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has been released from the hospital after recovering from a respiratory infection.

The illness forced Guidolin, 60, to miss Swans’ midweek match at Arsenal as well as their match over the weekend against Norwich City.

Alan Curtis managed the team in Guidolin’s absence and fared brilliantly as Swans won both matches to move nine points clear of the drop. Curtis had acted as caretaker manager for Swansea earlier in the season after Garry Monk was sacked and before Guidolin was appointed.

Guidolin is expected to be on the touchline when Swansea travel to Bournemouth on Saturday.

After struggling mightily through the middle of the season, Swans have found a bit of form and gained some comfort above the drop. With upcoming matches against Bournemouth and Aston Villa, Swansea will look to continue to earn valuable points in their push towards safety.
