One of the bigger stories heading into this weekend’s Premier League action is the clash between Everton and Aston Villa where American goalkeepers Tim Howard and Brad Guzan will face off.
Howard, the long-standing starter for the US Men’s National Team, has decided to take a sabatical from international play leaving the door open for his competition, Brad Guzan and Real Salt Lake’s Nick Rimando. For now, Guzan appears to enjoy the edge over Rimando leading many to wonder if he will supersede Howard when the Everton man decides to return to the Stars and Stripes.
Big, strong and amazing shot-stoppers, Howard and Guzan are quite similar in look and style meaning separating the two isn’t easy. But in the video above, ProSoccerTalk lead writer and editor Joe Prince-Wright and myself do our best to break down the comparison.
Where do you sit on the Howard v. Guzan debate?
