Louis van Gaal once asked Memphis Depay to wait a season before leaving PSV Eindhoven for Manchester United.

The young Dutch attacker agreed, and now his actual stay at Old Trafford may be coming to a close after just one season.

Spanish web site Don Balon says Memphis is still rated highly by Barcelona, and that the La Liga champs are eyeing the 22-year-old if they cannot land Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid.

Memphis scored seven goals for United last season, with five coming in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. He failed to net in his last 20 Premier League appearances.

Saido Berahino turned down a new four-year deal from West Bromwich Albion after a rocky 2015-16 under Tony Pulis.

The English striker is said to see his future away from the Hawthorns, and Sky Sports says both Watford and Crystal Palace are looking at the 22-year-old. We have to wonder whether non-Champions League clubs interest Berahino, who was a longtime Tottenham Hotspur target.

Stoke City could be losing two attackers, one more valuable than the other. Xherdan Shaqiri was one of the Potters’ 2015-16 stars, but Borussia Dortmund has a need to fill with Henrikh Mkhitaryan off to Manchester United.

Would Mark Hughes sell the Swiss attacker? The Stoke Sentinel says a legitimate offer would put the manager in a bind. Meanwhile, 35-year-old giant Peter Crouch is said to be a target of Rafa Benitez at Newcastle.
