Two major rumors are circulating the media involving top Premier League clubs.

Sky Italia is reporting that tomorrow’s Gazetta della Sport will include a story about Manchester City contacting AC Milan for star winger Stephen El Shaarawy. Tancredi Palmeri said City were willing to pay up to €40 million ($52.8 million) for the 20-year-old sensation.

Also making the rounds in England is the rumor that Chelsea have made an official bid for Napoli star Edinson Cavani but it was rejected as Napoli hold firm to their valuation.

Rory Smith of The Times in London reports the bid was for €47 million ($62 million), but Napoli are accepting no less than €62 million ($82 million). Smith also said Chelsea offered a player in the deal. He did not name the player, but said it was not Fernando Torres or Ramires.

Cavani has been heavily sought after, having scored 104 goals in all competitions for Napoli in the last few seasons. He’s been rumored to be wanted by not just Chelsea but Manchester City, Real Madrid, and many other top clubs.

El Shaarawy, however, has not been mentioned in nearly as many rumors this summer, but Manchester City have been intrigued by the Italian in the past.

These sagas don’t seem to be ending anytime soon, but it’s interesting to see who is involved with which players to see exactly who values what and for how much.

UPDATE: Palmeri is also reporting Chelsea is preparing a bid for AC Milan’s Kevin-Prince Boateng. Palmeri says it will be in the range of €15 million ($20 million), and Milan is very keen to sell. The 26-year-old midfielder made headlines when he walked off a pitch in January in the middle of a match because of racial abuse from fans.
