Arsenal fans, this is more bad news.

The club has announced German midfielder Mesut Ozil will miss up to 10-12 weeks of action after injuring his knee in the Premier League.

A statement released on the DFB website reads:

The MRI examination today at National Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in Munich revealed a partial rupture of the outer band of the left knee joint.

The treatment is conservative, with six weeks of immobilisation of the knee joint. Mesut Ozil is likely to be (out for) 10 to 12 weeks.”

Injuries continue to hamper Arsenal ]

It is not clear if this was a lingering issue or if the injury was sustained in Arsenal’s game against Chelsea.

As was reported earlier today, Ozil had joined his German teammates in Munich for their upcoming Euro qualifying matches. German doctors said Ozil was already injured when he arrived, clearing the German federation of any possible backlash from Arsenal or Gunners fans.

If Ozil’s recovery follows the doctor’s initial timetable, he may be out of Premier League action until after Christmas. While his form has been criticized recently, losing another midfielder for an elongated period could really hurt Arsenal’s chance both domestically and in Europe.
