A recent Instagram post from Jermaine Jones has led to speculation that the midfielder may have played his last game for the New England Revolution.

After the Revs were eliminated from the playoffs, a match in which Jones was sent off after losing his cool and going after referee Mark Geiger, Jones took to social media saying he was looking forward to the “next step” in his life.

Jones, 33, joined the Revolution at the end of last season, helping lead the team to the MLS Cup Final. He had previously spent most of his career in Germany, with stints in England and Turkey as well.[embed][/embed]

It was then reported that Jones had received offers from outside of MLS, although he hasn’t ruled out staying in America.

Now focused on the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with the USMNT in November, Jones will have some time to determine his future. After scoring three goals in a short stint at the end of last year, Jones did not score for the Revolution in 18 appearances this season.
