After releasing a statement earlier on Thursday to announce the club was parting ways with Jose Mourinho, Chelsea has now made another statement regarding the decision.

The club’s technical director Michael Emenalo spoke with Chelsea TV, and his words confirmed what many had been speculating.

Emenalo claimed that not only were the results not good enough, but also that there was a clear divide between Mourinho and his players, making it necessary to change managers.

While there is a huge sentiment for the individual who has done so much for the club, the fact of the matter remains that Chelsea Football Club is in trouble.

The results are not good. There obviously seems to be a palpable discord between manager and players, and we feel it was time to act.

The owner was forced to make a very tough decision for the good of the club.

Emenalo also said the club has a plan and will appoint a new manager as soon as possible.
