VIDEO: Fan attacks player in Sweden’s top-flight, game abandoned
A game in Sweden’s top-flight was abandoned on Monday after Ostersunds goalkeeper Aly Keita was attacked by a man who ran onto the pitch.
The Allsvenskan game was entering the final moments with Ostersunds drawing 1-1 at Jonkopings Sodra and then a fan ran onto the pitch and struck Keita in the temple.
Security staff tackled the man and led him off the pitch, while Keita received treatment before being carried off.
Referee Jonas Eriksson took both teams off the pitch following the incident and it was then decided shortly after that the game would be abandoned.
According to a statement from the Swedish football federation the police have detained a 17-year-old man from Sodertalje, close to Stockholm, and it also stated that a 3-0 win may be awarded to Osterunds as the pitch invader is believed to be a Jonkopings Sodra supporter.
