Crystal Palace is off to a rough start to its season that has extended far off the field, with manager Tony Pulis quitting due to issues with ownership and sporting director Iain Moody resigning after horrible texts were leaked.

But their impressive fan base remained at full-throat despite the 3-1 loss to West Ham United, and caretaker manager Keith Millen says the team is not making excuses.

“I won’t be watching Match of the Day tonight. I’ll recover hopefully and watch it on Sunday.

“It doesn’t get any easier. What’s gone on this week has been tough for the lads. We never got going at all.

“I’ll be speaking to the chairman tomorrow to see what the developments are.”

Filling in for Pulis would’ve been difficult enough without the shock of the Malky Mackay/Moody scandal. The London club has already dropped all six points and needs to right its ship to avoid another improbable reclamation project.
