Remember Miguel Ibarra, the Minnesota United FC (NASL) winger who got a call into Jurgen Klinsmann’s US national team squad last month?

Well, things didn’t quite go according to plan for Ibarra during that USMNT camp — he made his senior team debut as just a stoppage time substitute — but none of that has shaken the confidence of the 24-year-old Lancaster, California, native.

Just take a look at the goal Ibarra scored against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Saturday night. He goes for the super-chip, at least 20 feet into the air, to beat the goalkeeper with ease.

The USMNT final games of 2014 will be a pair of friendlies against Colombia and Ireland played in London and Dublin, respectively, next week. Klinsmann’s roster is expected to be announced early in the week.
