Fresh off a 1-1 tie against the United States on Friday, Ecuador got back to its winning ways thanks in part to a player who plies his trade in America.
Joao Plata of Real Salt Lake scored a pair of goals and so did West Ham United’s Enner Valencia as Ecuador cruised to a 5-1 win over El Salvador on Tuesday.

The match served as a send-off for 40-year-old La Tri player Ivan Hurtado, who is the nation’s all-time caps leader with 168.
