The defense might not have been what he wanted, but nothing could stop Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino from beaming after a signature 5-3 win over Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Friday.

“I’m grateful for a great performance from the team. They’re all very happy. It’s the first day of the new year and to start in this way is very important for us,” Pochettino said after the match.

Spurs led 4-1 and 5-2 en route to the final score line, and Pochettino said they “showed a big mentality” in the win. He also praised Chelsea as the best team in the league so far, and said that Man of the Match Harry Kane can succeed if he keeps working hard every day.
