The rumor mill is starting to churn into overdrive again, January 1 is almost upon us folks.

You know that what that means, the transfer window will swing open once again and whispers about big names players moving all over the place are about to commence.

So, what are we waiting for... let’s get to it.

Under Jose Mourinho Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires has struggled to find form this season and ahead of a World Cup in his home country this summer the 26-year-old may be on his way to La Liga. FC Barcelona are interested in the tireless box-to-box player and if they don’t manage to snap up Atletico Madrid youngster Koke, a move for Ramires could be imminent. Chelsea are certainly stacked with midfielders and I’m not sure Mourinho appreciates the work Ramires churns out. Is he Barca bound?

Looking to this window or perhaps in the summer, Chelsea and Manchester United are chasing Real Madrid’s holding midfielder Xabi Alonso. The former Liverpool star can leave on a free transfer at the end of this season and is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League. However if the Blues offload Ramires in January, maybe they’ll be willing to fork out a minimal transfer fee to get the Spanish international on board. After having an incredible stint at Liverpool, it would surely be hard for Alonso to join their bitter rivals United, right?

Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo could be heading out of St. Mary’s very soon, after his $22 million move from AS Roma this summer hasn’t quite worked out thus far. The Italian international has scored just once and battled injuries as he struggles to settle in the English game. Both Atletico Madrid and Valencia are aiming to take him back to Spain, where he previously scored shed loads of goals for Espanyol in La Liga. Osvaldo, 27, needs a big season to try and force his way into the Italian national side for the World Cup and a move to a Spanish side may help his cause.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are all sniffing around Barcelona youngster Toni Sanabria as the 17-year-old has a $4 million release clause in his contract. Sanabria, 17, cannot sign a pro deal in Spain until he turns 18 and the three aforementioned PL clubs are wiling to make him a pro with lucrative offers. Arsenal have poached the likes of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona’s famed academy in the past and whether you agree with it or not, money talks for teenage talents. Sanabria is already a Paraguayan international and is described as the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Barca’s academy.

Finally, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is looking to bolster his squad in January and hopes to add Portuguese midfielder Diogo Viana to the Toffees roster. Viana, 23, has been excelling for Gil Vicente in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and a deal of just $6.5 million could snap up his services. Martinez’ Everton have looked solid at the back yet predictable going forward and a bit of extra trickery and pace will go a long way to helping the Toffees bag a few more goals.
