Arsenal’s players have earned a few days off.

Atop the table and with no League Cup game this week, Arsene Wenger will give his players some time away from the club.

Though he admits that could be to their peril, he believes the morale boost will be worth any other risk.

From Metro:

‘An extra rest but you never know what shape they come back in. It depends what you do when you have a rest. You can come back more tired.’

It’s not a willy-nilly risk. Wenger likes the “vibes” around the team. He’s liking their attitude and charisma, and thinks they will take care of themselves.

The Gunners lead Leicester City by two points and Man City by three, and host Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

They’ll then face a brutal three-match run in the Premier League with trips to Stoke and Liverpool before a visit from Chelsea.
