The 146th Preakness Stakes will be held on Saturday, May 15. Coverage begins on NBCSN, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app at 2 p.m. ET then moves to NBC at 5 p.m. ET.

There are races throughout the day, and the post time for the Preakness is set for approximately 6:50 p.m. ET.

The weather will be gorgeous for the 146th running of the Preakness Stakes. The Weather Channel projects a partly cloudy day with a high of 69 degrees Fahrenheit and 53 percent humidity.

How many fans will attend? 

After allowing only owners, trainers and essential personnel on the grounds in 2020, Pimlico will admit 10,000 fans and follow social distancing protocols. InfieldFest will not take place this year given those protocols, but Preakness LIVE will be livestreamed concurrently with the NBC broadcast and feature musical guests.

Will Medina Spirit race in the 2021 Preakness Stakes?

Medina Spirit will participate in the Preakness Stakes after a week of controversy over a failed drug test at the Kentucky Derby. Trainer Bob Baffert did not travel to Baltimore with the horse in order to avoid being a distraction as Churchill Downs investigates the matter. Baffert has denied any wrongdoing, and Pimlico officials say they will allow Medina Spirit to race after additional testing and monitoring.
