Since becoming the head coach of the University of Maryland Football football program, Mike Locksley has been able to bring in top recruits. Now, he may be on the cusp of his biggest signing yet.
Class of 2021 five-star inside linebacker Terrence Lewis unveiled his top two schools on Monday, with the Terrapins featured alongside the Tennessee Volunteers.
For the Terps, Lewis wouldn't just be a top commit for the Locksley era, but for the program's history as well. The Miami Central High School product out of Florida is rated No. 16 overall by 247Sports composite rankings, with a .9906 score. It would make him the fourth-highest recruit to head to College Park.
The No. 1 inside linebacker, per 247Sports, originally committed to Tennessee in April before de-committing from the school on November 30. Despite the change in heart, Lewis noted that the program was still a top choice, evident by his listing of them in his Top 2.
Maryland currently holds the 25th-best recruiting class for 2021, according to 247Sports. If Lewis were to choose the Terps, that ranking would most likely jump.
