Annapolis native stuntman Travis Pastrana jumps car over Ego Alley

Washington

Travis Pastrana has conquered his hometown in the only way he knows how.

The professional stuntman and longtime racecar driver returned to his native Annapolis, Maryland, on Thursday with a mission: successfully jump a car over Ego Alley at City Dock. With about 150 people reportedly gathered around the restaurant Market House, Pastrana completed the feat several times while a powerboat whizzed by across the water underneath him.

Pastrana was originally set to make the jump early that morning, but a dense fog that settled in across the DMV forced him to wait until around 11 a.m. to get the all-clear. He did it multiple times in order to get the timing right with the boat speeding under him. Some spectators looking for a better view climbed the mast of a ship docked at the marina.

The 37-year-old has put together a successful career in motorsports, winning 17 total medals at the X-Games and competing as a NASCAR driver for three years. Pastrana currently competes in NASCAR’s Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series while putting exhibitions as a professional daredevil and running the media company Nitro Circus, which began as a series of DVDs in the early 200s.
