Bundy won't be September Orioles addition

Dylan Bundy will be spending his September in the Instructional Leagueand not with the Orioles.Bundy walked four batters in 5 13 innings for Bowie on Tuesday night against Erie. In three starts with the Baysox, Bundy is 2-0 with a 3.24 ERA. Hes walked eight in 16 23 innings.Manager Buck Showalter says its evident Bundy has to work on his command.Four walks in Bowie are more walks up here, Showalter saidThe Instructional League starts on the 12th. What did he walk four guys last night? Hes at a level hes being challenged with, just like hes being challenged more than at Frederick, Showalter said.I think the progression of his development has been great. You couldnt ask for a better progression. Were a little over two-and-a-half weeks from Instructional League start. Theyve got some plans, some things for him to work on.The 19-year-ol d, who was the fourth overall pick in last years draft has impressed everyone, and there was a belief he could be called up this week when the rosters expand. You have to ask yourself: Does he have a chance to be on the club to start the season next year? I think that kind of affects the way you look at it, Showalter said. Right now, I want him to pitch his butt off and help Bowie win an Eastern League championship. Thats where I want his mindset, and what thats over, look forward to working on some weaknesses in Instructional League.
