Before Monday's 4-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics, the Orioles made 5-year-old Hailey Dawson's day.
Dawson was born with a congenital disease called Poland Syndrome, which hindered her from using much of her right hand. But thanks to the UNLV engineering department, a prosthetic hand was created for her (replete with Orioles insignia) using a 3D printer so that she could throw out the ceremonial first pitch to her favorite player, third baseman Manny Machado.
It was an awesome scene, and one that hopefully provided the Dawson family and those watching at Camden Yards with a moment they won't soon forget.
