A very Maryland-y bobblehead is coming to Camden Yards

BY PETER HAILEY

If you like bobbleheads, Old Bay, black-eyed Susans, little bibs with the Maryland state flag on them, or tiny crab mallets, then clear out your schedule so you're totally free on August 1st, because you absolutely need to be at Camden Yards.

That's because the Orioles will be passing out a "Maryland-themed" Oriole bobblehead ahead of their 7:05 p.m. home game against the Tigers. According to the team, the first 25,000 fans to make it out to Birdland on Saturday night will be the proud recipients of this glorious giveaway:

The people behind the Orioles' promotions really outdid themselves on this one -- they truly crammed as much Maryland-y stuff on that little Oriole as they possibly could. The only noticeable omissions are a lacrosse stick and a Natty Boh.

Still, with that being said, there's clearly a lot of love for the Old Line state on Saturday's handout, and if fans are forced to deal with traffic and confusing weather at the ballpark that night while trying to acquire one, then, well, August 1st may go down as the most Maryland day in history.
