Ogden does political dance in ad

Former Raven Jonathan Ogden has joined the advertising onslaught over Question 7 on the Maryland ballot — the referendum on expanded gambling. He appears with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. As she recites reasons Marylanders should vote for the measure, he looms menacingly, making Rawlings-Blake look about 4 feet tall, and utters a few short lines.

Look at the video here.

The best thing you can say about Ogden’s appearance is that it’s not nearly as embarrassingly funny as his old Gebco Insurance commercial. That one featured the All-Pro offensive tackle “dancing.”

How about this: Maybe the next Question 7 ad could feature Ogden saying he’ll shoot a spot that shows him dancing with the mayor if the referendum passes.

That would get my vote.

Baltimore Ravens Roundup: Roster spot questions begin

Kick off your Wednesday with the latest Baltimore Ravens news.

1. Chris Board is making a run for a starting spot at linebacker for the Ravens, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. Board and Kenny Young will reportedly make a run for the starting spot opposite Patrick Onwuasor, but Board is pulling ahead of the pack Zrebiec says. The spot is up for grabs since the Ravens lost C.J. Mosley in free agency.

2. Also looking to earn a roster spot is wide receiver, Jordan Lasley. After training during the offseason with Lamar Jackson, many expected Lasley to show up to minicamp ahead of the pack, but after making some drops, Zrebiec says Lasley "will need to pick up his game" if he wants to get a spot on the Ravens roster.
