In the NFL, pressure is inevitable. For the next 10 days CSNBaltimore.com will be ranking the top 10 Ravens who are under pressure heading into training camp. Check back daily to see who is next in our countdown.
Why the pressure is on:
Hill missed the first six games last year due to a suspension for violating the league’s substance policy. It was Hill’s third suspension since joining the NFL, and another violating will lead to harsher sanctions.
Hill is also competing with Matt Elam for a starting job. Elam has been a disappointment his first two seasons, but he was a first-round draft pick, meaning the Ravens expected him to become a starter. For Hill to start, he’ll have to outperform Elam in training camp and during the preseason.
What Hill needs to do:
Continue to stay out of trouble, and let his talent take over. Hill is a physical specimen who looks more like a linebacker than a safety. He’s a punishing tackler with range, and could add and an intimidating presence to the Ravens’ secondary. Hill played his best football toward the end of last season, as his comfort level in the Ravens’ defense grew. Basically, the Ravens hope picks up where he left off last season.
