Replacing Fox has worked for Super Bowl coaches

Excuse Bears coach John Fox if he feels weird watching Super Bowl 50.

The Panthers fired Fox after the 2010 season and hired Ron Rivera. The Broncos fired Fox after the 2014 season and hired Gary Kubiak.

So Fox will be watching two guys who replaced him face each other in the Super Bowl. That’s a Super Bowl first. Fox has landed on his feet, but he has to wonder what would have happened if the Broncos had kept him. He won four straight AFC West titles with the Broncos. He got them to the Super Bowl two years ago when the Broncos lost to the Seahawks.

Think your boss doesn’t appreciate you? Fox can relate.
