BALTIMORE—Steve Pearce will undergo surgery on his right forearm Wednesday in New York. Pearce, who was placed on the 60-day disabled list on Sunday, will have his flexor tendons repaired.

“Hopefully ready to go next spring,” manager Buck Showalter said. His recovery is estimated to take four-to-six weeks.

Wade Miley, who left Sunday’s start after his back tightened on him while warming up for the fifth inning, is feeling better today, Showalter said.

“Went out and threw and feels pretty good,” Showalter said.

At first, Miley was reported to have left because of a cramp in his back, but later was diagnosed as a mild sprain.

“I’m hoping it’s more of the original diagnosis than the latter,” Showalter said. “We’ll see where he fits in as we go forward.”

NOTES: Showalter said that he’s leaning toward Ubaldo Jimenez as Wednesday’s starter against Boston. … The Orioles extended their agreement with Aberdeen for two more years through 2018.
