The NFL has informed the Ravens that they are under consideration to play in London next year against the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. The Ravens have never played a game outside the United States and are one of only eight teams who have not played outside the country since the league’s International Series began in 2007.
Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has long wanted the Ravens to play in London.
“I would absolutely love going to London,” Bisciotti said during a conference call with season ticket holders last season. “I think it would be great. Hopefully it would be the time of year that we could get a lot of fans over there, whether it (is) near Christmas or near Thanksgiving, or September when the weather is still beautiful, even in the UK I’m all for it. I think it would be a blast.”
The London game would be a home game for the Jaguars, and the Ravens are already scheduled to play the Jaguars and the entire AFC South next season. Other teams that have not played in the International Series are the Browns, Cardinals, Eagles, Packers, Panthers, Seahawks and Titans.
