Brett Connolly is a Capital no more.
After a career season with 22 goals and 24 assists, Connolly will be making his way to the Florida Panthers on a four-year, $3.5 million AAV deal.
The news was first reported as early as June 30 from Bob Stauffer.

Connolly joined the Capitals prior to the start of the 2016-17 season via a trade with the Boston Bruins. Connolly tallied 52 goals and 44 assists in 218 regular-season games with the Capitals.
The 27-year-old right wing will join free agents Sergei Bobrovsky and Noel Acciari in Sunrise as the Panthers try to pull back into playoff contention. Last season, the Panthers missed the playoffs by 12 points.
