On Saturday, former Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins was struck and killed by a vehicle in Florida. Haskins had been in the state training with some Pittsburgh Steelers teammates helping prepare for the upcoming 2022 season.Â
Before the Washington Capitals' Sunday game against the Boston Bruins, the team paid tribute to Haskins at Capital One Arena with a moment of silence.Â
The Pittsburgh Penguins held a moment of silence for Haskins on Saturday as well when they hosted the Caps. Both teams are from the two cities where Haskins spent his professional football career.Â
Over the weekend, people across the sports world shared their condolences after learning of Haskins' death. He was 24 years old.Â
