The Capitals released the design for their fifth jersey of the 2022-23 season Thursday, unveiling their uniforms for the Stadium Series game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Feb. 18.
Washington’s white, blue and red sweaters feature the “Weagle” logo across the chest with a Stadium Series logo embroidered on the right shoulder. The full ensemble includes blue helmets with the players’ number on the side, blue pants, blue and red gloves and white socks with blue and red trim. The pants have three stars running down each side.
After fans clamored for the Weagle to make its way onto a jersey, the Capitals made it the front-facing logo for the first time. This year’s Stadium Series game will mark the fourth different outdoor venue — and corresponding specialty jersey — the Capitals have participated in since 2011.
The Hurricanes released their jerseys for the game Thursday as well.
Hosted at NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, the Stadium Series game will be the NHL’s second outdoor game this season after the Boston Bruins hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 2 at Fenway Park.
