Capitals release 6-game preseason schedule

It may be hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, but it's already time to start thinking about hockey! The Capitals preseason schedule was released on Thursday with the slate kicking off on Sunday, Sept. 26.

The schedule consists of six games, with the Caps facing three teams in a home-and-home series. The schedule will open with Washington hosting the Boston Bruins who eliminated them from the 2021 postseason in the first round.

Here is the full schedule:

Sunday, Sept. 26 vs. Boston

Wednesday, Sept. 29 vs. New Jersey

Saturday, Oct. 2 at Philadelphia

Monday, Oct. 4 at New Jersey

Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Boston

Friday, Oct. 8 vs. Philadelphia

The schedule goes a bit deeper into October than in a normal season as the late 2021 season pushed the start of the 2021-22 season back into mid-October. The NHL still intends to play a full 82-game schedule, however, and the full schedule is expected to be released later in July.
