D John Carlson: Leading the league in points among defensemen, Carlson is looking to increase his lead against the Bruins. With 47 points on the year, he's got 13 more than 2nd place and is 7th in the entire league. 

 

C Nicklas Backstrom: In his seventh game back from injury, Backstrom is looking like his usual self. In Thursday's win against the Devils, he registered two goals and two assists. Against the Bruins, he'll look to keep the magic going. 

G Jaroslav Halak: The Boston goaltender is letting up the fourth-fewest goals per game this season at 2.26, while the Caps have the NHL's most prolific offense. Unstoppable force, meet immovable object.
