Lundqvist joins Caps "with one goal in mind"

If his latest tweet is any indication, newly signed Capitals goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is not only ready to rock the red, he’s coming to the nation’s capital to win.

Lundqvist, who signed a 1-year, $1.5M deal with Washington, writes “a new journey begins with ONE goal in mind” in a tweet alongside a picture featuring several D.C. monuments behind his goalie mask.

A former Vezina Trophy winner and 5-time NHL All-Star, Lundqvist will replace Braden Holtby in net for Washington and compete for time against Ilya Samsonov. Holtby, who inked a 2-year deal with Vancouver earlier on Friday, won 282 games and a Stanley Cup title in 10 seasons with the Capitals.
