How to watch Capitals vs. Flames

Capitals

The Washington Capitals have opened their 2021-22 season on a positive note with a 3-0-1 record, scoring four-plus goals in their three wins. Alex Ovechkin and the Caps will be looking to continue this momentum when they welcome the Calgary Flames, who are in the middle of a five-game road trip.

Calgary is coming off a win against the Detroit Red Wings after two defeats to open up their season, so they'll be looking to turn their victory into a winning streak.

Here's everything you need to know before puck drop Saturday afternoon.

CAPITALS VS. FLAMES WHAT TO WATCH

Washington is one of the top teams for goals scored through four games, already netting 16. Ovechkin leads the way with four goals, with Evgeny Kuznetsov right behind him with three.

The Caps-Flames matchup will see two teams that are stingy in the goals allowed category as they're both in the top ten. Washington has conceded seven goals. Meanwhile, Calgary has allowed just eight goals.

CAPITALS VS. FLAMES PLAYERS TO WATCH

Capitals: Alex Ovechkin (4 games, 4 goals, 8 points). Age is nothing but a number for Ovechkin as the 36-year-old is off to a good start in 2021-22. Despite the spotlight on him for chasing Wayne Gretzky's goals record, it's not affecting his overall production.

Flames: Elias Lindholm (3 games, 3 goals, 3 points). The Flames are leaning on Lindholm in the goal-scoring department to start this season. The Caps defense will need to keep tabs on the 27-year-old center, who has the early scoring touch.
