The Washington Capitals have won their last four games and will look to make it five in a row when they welcome the Dallas Stars to Capital One Arena, which was supposed to be the return of Braden Holtby to the nation’s capital for the first time since departing in 2020. 

A lower-body injury has sidelined Holtby, and Saturday’s game was his fourth straight missed game due to the lower-body injury, and Stars head coach Rick Bowness said he’s “out for the weekend.”

Capitals: Alex Ovechkin, LW (61 games, 39 goals, 75 points): Ovechkin has the scoring touch for the Capitals, the 36-year-old has scored in his last three straight games and overtook Jaromir Jagr as the NHL's third all-time leading goal scorer during this run. He is one goal from tying Wayne Gretzky's NHL record for most 40-goal seasons (12). 

Stars: Jason Robertson, LW (51 games, 30 goals, 55 points): Robertson leads the Stars in goals scored this season and has scored nine goals in his last ten games, including two hat-tricks versus the Winnipeg Jets and Minnesota Wild this month.
