In his second NHL All-Star appearance, John Carlson became the first Capitals defenseman ever to score in the marquee event when he put the Metro Division on board with a little help from his Washington teammates.

In a full-rink effort, T.J. Oshie slings Braden Holtby's save to Mat Barzal at center ice, who passes it over to Carlson at the opposite faceoff dot for a quick one-timer just 2:13 in to the first period. This was the Metro Division's first goal of the night.

Enough said.
