Garnet Hathaway has already had an interesting, but productive, first year with the Washington Capitals since signing a four-year, $6 million contract last July.
The Capitals released an episode of "Beyond the Game" on Tuesday morning, which chronicled Hathaway's first ride to Capital One Arena with teammate and five-star Uber driver, Nic Dowd.

"It's a great crowd from what I've always noticed," Hathaway said when previewing his first home game in D.C. "It definitely seems like there are passionate fans here."
The undrafted winger out of Brown is in his fifth year in the NHL, but was sort of bummed when his new teammate didn't pick him up a coffee on the way to the arena.
"Nick didn't want to pick me up one which is a little weird," Hathaway said.
"I thought he was a professional, I thought he'd already have one," Dowd responded.
"I just moved here I don't even have a bed frame, let alone a coffee maker," Hathaway said.
We've all been there.
The two took in sights around D.C., including the Lincoln Memorial, and discussed how friendly the people are around town.
One thing that caught Hathaway completely by surprise was the unusual perks Capitals players receive.
"I've never been on a team where pregame meals are provided," Hathaway said.
"Our chefs are great people," Dowd exclaimed. "Great people everywhere."
The drive to Capital One was smooth sailing up until the end, where they were inches away from a car accident in the parking garage. Luckily for everyone involved, Dowd's vehicle control on the road mirrors that of his skating skills on the ice.
No Caps were harmed in the making of this video.
