At long last, hockey is almost back! The Capitals begin the 2020 postseason on Aug. 3, nearly five months after the 2019-20 season was initially paused due to the coronavirus. That’s a long time ago. Let’s take a look back at the biggest stories of the 2019-20 season to refresh our memories before the Caps continue their quest for a second Stanley Cup.
The NHL season is not all business and the Capitals are certainly a team that likes to have fun. The 2019-20 season has been different in a lot of ways, but the personality of Washington’s players remains as fun as ever.
Perhaps the most adorable Caps family is the Oshies. Before a game in February, T.J.’s daughter, Leni made a bet with her dad. If he scored a goal, he would get a donut. Of course, Oshie delivered...and so did Leni.

Oshie better keep scoring those goals because Sergei Ovechkin looks like he may be gunning for a spot on the roster.

Sergei was born in 2018 after Washington won the Stanley Cup. This year, Ovechkin became a father of two with the birth of his second son, Ilya.
Tom Wilson may not have kids, but he did get a new addition to his family this year, a dog named Halle. That dog was about the only source of entertainment we could find from hockey in the first month of the pandemic.
