On Tuesday, Washington Capitals defenseman Michal Kempny began the next decade of his life as he celebrated his 30th birthday.
With the Capitals out of the bubble, Kempny returned home to the Czech Republic to celebrate with friends and family. Based on a few Instagram stories, it appears some fellow Caps were there to enjoy the festivities.
Both Jakub Vrana and Martin Fehervary shared photos on their accounts showing that they were in attendance as Kempny rang in his 30th birthday.
Vrana is from the Czech Republic as well, while Fehervary is from Slovakia, which neighbors the Czech Republic.
The celebration between teammates is just the latest example of how close the group in Washington is. With Vrana and Fehervary being in the early 20's, Kempny has surely acted as a veteran presence and a friend during their time together on the Capitals.
