T.J. Oshie finds his infant son's sock as a good luck charm ahead of Islanders matchup

Capitals

T.J. Oshie has officially discovered his good luck charm: his infant son’s sock.

Minutes before the Capitals and Islanders faced off in Game 1 of their first-round Stanley Cup Playoff series, Washington’s star winger posted a photo on his Instagram story of his infant son’s sock, which he found in his pocket before the game.

His caption read, “Found little mans sock in my pocket this morning. I’m gonna guess that’s good luck??”

Oshie was right, as he came out on fire to start the matchup, scoring the Caps’ first two goals of the playoffs to gain a 2-0 over the Islanders. He also swept a loose puck out of the crease to save a goal.

While Oshie has made his team proud early in the playoffs, he has had to do so away from his family. Since the Capitals left for the bubble in late July, Oshie has been separated from his wife Lauren, two daughters and son Campbell who was born just five months ago in March.

Even though Oshie’s family can’t be in the bubble to cheer him on, they’re clearly bringing good luck from afar.
