Taking hard hits into the boards, going against formidable goalies and knocking out defending Stanley Cup champions are nothing for Evgeny Kuznetsov -- at least when compared with mysterious reptiles.

Yes, the Washington Capitals center -- who already has two goals and an assist through the team's first two games of the 2018-19 season -- is terrified of snakes. So, naturally, he was a little freaked out when the NHL got him to play the game What's in the Box?

Joined by former NHLer Paul Bissonnette, Kuzy attempted the game, which involves sticking your hands inside a box and trying to guess its contents. According to the video, the live-animal options for what he could have discovered in the box included a turtle, a hairless guinea pig, a bearded dragon and a frog.

"As long as it's not snake, I'm fine," the 26-year-old Caps player said. "If it's snake, I'm going to run away from you."

Adorably, Kuzy was skittish as he put his hands in the box, likely praying it wasn't a real snake -- like the boa constrictor Bissonnette mentioned.

Our hats are off to Kuzy here because first, he was a good sport about this psychologically tormenting came. And second, there could have been a real snake in there.
