Wizards, Nationals tweet support for Capitals Stanley Cup push

Capitals

The Capitals officially get their Stanley Cup playoffs first-round matchup with the Islanders underway this afternoon at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington - and they've got full support behind them.

The 2019 World Series Champion Washington Nationals were up first thing in the morning to remind everyone of the special occassion...except for Islanders fans of course.

There was a tremendous amount of social media back-and-forth between the Nats and Caps during each other's title-winning seasons in 2018 and 2019 and a memorable locker room party at Capital One Arena last year. Add the side-by-side video of Adam Eaton and T.J. Oshie chugging their beers through their jerseys in each other's celebratory locker rooms and this an iconic tweet. Well done, Nats.

Perhaps we'll see more beer chugging come October.

The Wizards were quick to echo the Nationals with some good-looking pregame attire for Bradley Beal.

The Wizards have struggled during rhe NBA's restart in the Orlando bubble and will be home soon after they finish with a game against the Celtics on Thursday. They will be back at it soon enough hopefully. But it's safe to say D.C. sports fans are ready to focus their attention on the Caps and another long Stanley Cup run.
