Chattanooga holds off Samford for a 20-13 victory

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Jacob Huesman rushed for one touchdown and passed for a second to lead Chattanooga to a 20-13 Southern Conference win over Samford Saturday night.

The Moccasins (4-3, 3-1) led 20-3 after three quarters before Samford (5-3, 3-3) rallied behind the leg of placekicker Cameron Yaw. Huesman's 1-yard scoring run followed the first of two Nick Pollard field goals for a 10-0 Chattanooga lead. Yaw boomed a 52-yard field goal on the last play of the first half to cut it to 10-3.

After Pollard's second field goal, a 36-yarder, Huesman's 16-yard touchdown pass to Marquis Green gave the Moccasins a 20-3 lead entering the fourth quarter.

But Yaw connected again, this time from 47 yards. Then a 1-yard touchdown run by Fabian Truss cut it to 20-13 with 4:49 still remaining. Chattanooga, however, held on for the victory.

Huesman was 18-of-23 passing for 164 yards and ran for 64 yards.

Redskins at Cowboys Week 12: Date, time, TV channel, live stream, how to watch

It's Dallas week. Again.

The Redskins defeated the Cowboys in Week 7, but when they travel to AT&T Stadium for a Thanksgiving clash with their bitter rivals, things feel a lot different than they were just a few weeks ago. The Redskins will be without quarterback Alex Smith, who suffered a gruesome ankle injury this past Sunday against Houston and will miss the remainder of the season.

It's officially Colt McCoy time in Washington, and his first test comes on the road Thursday. The last time McCoy played in Dallas, he led the Redskins to a shocking upset over the Cowboys on Monday Night Football in 2014.

The Cowboys have been playing good football the past two weeks, defeating Philadelphia and Atlanta in each of their respective stadiums. Dallas returns home to host their annual Thanksgiving game, a date they have played on every year but two since 1966. The Cowboys overall record on Thanksgiving is 29-18-1.

The last time the Cowboys hosted the Redskins on Thanksgiving was two years ago, when Dallas defeated the Redskins 31-26. Prior to that, the Redskins defeated the Cowboys on Thanksgiving in 2012, 38-31.

The Redskins have not had much success on Thanksgiving, with an overall record of 3-10, although they did defeat the New York Giants on Thanksgivng 20-10 last year. Thursday's contest will mark the third consecutive season the Redskins play on Thanksgiving, a franchise record.

The Cowboys lead the all-time series record, 70-45-2.

Wizards likely to sign free agent Okaro White to fill 14th roster spot, per source

The Wizards are set to sign free agent power forward Okaro White to fill their 14th roster spot, NBC Sports Washington has learned.

Washington needs to add a 14th player to reach the league roster minimum after they waived guard Chasson Randle on Nov. 11. Technically, they have until Nov. 25, per league rules which allow teams to carry 13 players for 14 days.

White, 26, has played two NBA seasons, both with the Miami Heat. He was undrafted out of Florida State University and has also spent time with the Cavs, Hawks and Spurs despite not appearing in regular season games with them.

White has played 41 total NBA games. He has career averages of 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Though White will get an NBA roster spot, he could see time with the team's G-League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. At the NBA level, he gives the Wizards another big man, which could come in handy depending on how long Dwight Howard is affected by his piriformis muscle injury.
